As I mentioned I'm changing a few things about how the quizzes will be
graded
and the time window for downloading and turning in the quiz.  The quiz
is not
available yet.

1)  I'm going to open up the window at 12 PM on Friday and make the
due date 11:59 PM Saturday.  That gives essentially 36 hours to do the quiz.
I will not send a reminder.

2) How is the grading changing?  We're going to expect a correct answer and
work for full credit.  You've got 36 hours and you can use your book so
I think
we can expect this.  Below is a rough breakdown of how we'll grade each
question:

     a)  Correct answer and all work (including equations when
appropriate)    -    full credit
     b)  Correct answer, no work          -    10% credit
     c)  Wrong answer & work shown with simple mistake and the work applies
to the question and mistake leads to the wrong answer given
              (e.g. simple math mistake)   -    90% credit
     d)  Answer doesn't fully answer question or not all work shown -
will depend on
how much of the question it answers or how much work is shown.
     e)  Wrong answer & wrong work    -    no credit
     f)  No late work will be accepted.

In terms of (d), this is because people didn't fully answer the
questions asked or
gave an answer which didn't really answer the question.  A question asked to
give the Lewis structure for SeO3^2- corresponding to the OCTET rule but
people gave the best structure conforming to the formal charge rules.  That
was actually the next question.  So technically you didn't answer the
question.

Remember to upload as a PDF or JPG (jpeg) file.  Try to combine your
pages into
a single document.  It makes it easier for the TAs to grade.

Finally, do NOT share work.  This includes posting your work and answers to
the internet or sending it to other students.  This also means no
working with
others or getting help.  This should be your own work.
