I'm getting a number of questions about the rubric for exp 3.
If you fill out and turn in all the report sheets (pages 37-41)
you will cover your bases for the "data", "calculations"
and "questions" sections on the rubric.
The Data/Results section is your observations on pages
37-39 of the reports sheets (remember to include relative
amounts of solid).
The Calculations section is the report sheet on page 40.
The Questions section is the report sheet on page 41.
Make sure your particle diagram depicts the particles in the
proper way (soluble ionic compounds exist as separate ions
and solids can be depicted as a single particle w. the formula
for the compound or as a solid at the bottom with the formula).
You can fill in the report sheets in manual and tear those
out for the report or type them up using Word or Excel
(just make sure you label them clearly).
The Discussion section will be a little shorter than it will be
for future reports in that much of what should go here is on
the report sheet on page 40. Lists those results and summarize
your reasoning. Discuss some inherent sources of error.
Write a short (2-3 sentences for this) conclusion which answers
the purpose of the lab and how a formula for a compound can
be determined.
There are NO graphs.
