[All-extension] Vicki Schwartz's Mother's passing

With sadness, we share the news that Associate State Leader 4-H, Vicki Schwartz's mother passed away last Wednesday.



Wilma Jo (Howe) Schwartz went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday April 30th, 2014, at Sparrow Memorial Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Although she has left us in body, her spirit will continue in the hearts and minds of those who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Vicki, and son, Roger, their spouses, and three grandchildren, Samuel McCoy, Bethany Schwartz, and Emilio Schwartz. She is also survived by her sister Alma, several sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Mary Jane, and her husband of 46 years, Dwight.

A musician by training, she enjoyed making music with the Meridian Community Band and the Handbell Choir of the Presbyterian Church of Okemos. Her life's energy was devoted to supporting others, including many international students who called her "Mom."

A memorial celebration service will be held at 4:00 pm on May 25, 2014 at the Presbyterian Church of Okemos, In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made in her name to the Memorial Fund of the Presbyterian Church of Okemos (2258 Bennett Road, Okemos, MI, 48864), the Meridian Community Band (P.O. Box 542, Okemos, MI 48805), or the AAAP Foundation: L. Dwight Schwartz Travel Scholarship Fund (12627 San Jose Blvd, Suite 202, Jacksonville, FL 32223.)
