Subject: Die Casting Internship & Scholarship Opportunities for Your
Students

Dear Professor Luo,

The North American Die Casting Association (NADCA) is committed to promoting
industry awareness, research and education, as well as domestic growth in
the global marketplace. The association offers internship and scholarship
opportunities to college engineering students, but we do not have the
audience of young engineers that you have. We are asking for your help
informing your students about the David Laine Internship & Scholarship
Program (or if you can forward this to the right person to handle this
request at your school). The program provides scholarships to college
students that have interned with die casting companies/companies that are
suppliers to the die casting industry. Last year, 10 students were
recognized by the David Laine Intern and Scholarship Program, with the
scholarships ranging from $2,000-2,500.

NADCA is currently gathering resumes for its Intern Program, which will be
promoted to die casting industry executives and HR departments across North
America. Students that wish to be considered for an internship should send
their resumes to <mailto:intern at diecasting.org> intern at diecasting.org with
a general letter of interest (PDF documents preferred). Students must note
their geographic area of interest to work (around school, around home or if
willing to re-locate for the summer) and that will be included in the
student database. Materials are due February 29, 2016. Interested companies
will contact students directly. Students that receive internships are not
required to apply for the scholarship and scholarship applicants do NOT have
to have their die casting internship sourced through NADCA to be eligible to
apply.

NADCA also administers the Steven J. Harmon Memorial Scholarship Program
which is for students pursing Masters Degrees. The purpose of this
scholarship is to raise an awareness and interest in the die casting
industry, as well as to promote die cast technology through engineering
education while honoring Mr. Harmon, who was a leader in the die casting
industry.

Please help share this information about these two opportunities to the
students in your program.

Sincerely,

Daniel L. Twarog

David Laine Trustee

President, NADCA
