[AFS_OSU] Meeting Recap and Upcoming Events

All,

Last night Wil Tinker from Tinker Omega Manufacturing came to speak with us about his Definition of Luck.

He discussed the many different factors that he believes helped him to get where he is today.

Here are a few take away points from his presentation:

-          It's a small world.  You never know when you may meet someone who will have an effect on your future.

-          Give back.  Find the organizations and groups that have helped you to grow as a person and give back to those organizations so that they may help others.

-         Pay your dues.  Be sure to put in the most effort you can when working on a project.  It will show if you feel like you have better things to do.

-         It's your career, not a job.  You want to enjoy what you're doing.  Balance the psychic and monetary wealth in your life.  If you're wealthy but you don't enjoy your job then you're not happy!  Find the balance.

-        Networking is important!  Making new connections can lead to new opportunities!

-        Co-Oping and Interning will set you up for success!  An internship or co-op can set you apart from other applicants and give you useful experience.
