Let me jump in here. You have to be nominated by a state association and/or speciality group (AABP, AAhA etc) I handled Scott’s nomination using Minnesota vma and AASV. The nomination has to be approved by the Avma house of delegates of which I am member. It is not difficult to get done.  I was on COBTA and the chair of it if you have more questions.
