[ACVM] Congratulations to Dr. Bob Ellis!

Orhan: Thanks for the news. Bill Fales was one of the most helpful CRWAD members in giving me advice in the 1980s as I started to study genetics of Salmonella virulence and develop strains as vaccine vectors. He thus told me about prevalence of Salmonella in poultry and swine - and lots of practical knowledge of problems in the animal health industry. This all started with a visit to Missou. Actually, Bill provided me with a recently isolated S. Pullorum strain that was then rare due to blood testing and eradication. He also provided me with a very hot S. Choleraesuis strain that I used to develop a vaccine now marketed by Merck Animal Health as Argus SC/ST. In fact, we have a superior derivative of that strain that I am developing as a vector to use to prevent diseases in swine. I have had no contact with Bill since he retired and I moved on to Arizona and then Florida. Do You know his contact information? Best regards. Be Safe. Roy

    Not sure if this has been communicated previously, but I just heard this news today at Iowa State.
    Dr. Fales, ACVM Honorary Diplomate, was given the E. P. Pope Memorial Award by AAVLD.
