Two Assistant Professorships in Virology. Oregon State University invites applications for two 9-month, full-time (1.0 FTE), tenure-track positions in the Department of Microbiology.

1.    Human virology.  Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, molecular and cellular virology, host-pathogen interactions, antivirals and vaccines, the human virome, epidemiology, ecology, and evolution. 2.       Aquatic virology.  Areas of interest include existing and emerging infections of aquatic animals and plants, viral evolution, aquatic viromes, and the role of phage in microbiome regulation and disease management. The successful candidates will be expected to establish a competitive research program in one of the indicated areas, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in microbiology, and participate in institutional and professional service.  Collaborative and interdisciplinary research endeavors that could link to local initiatives in microbial pathogenesis, microbiome research, data science, and in case of the aquatic virology position also aquatic animal health and marine biology, are encouraged.  OSU is an AA/EOE.  Date for full consideration is 31 January 2020.
