Description & Details
This position serves as a Research Veterinary Medical Officer with the Arthropod-Borne Animal Diseases Research Unit located in Manhattan, KS.  You will conduct research on arboviral diseases of livestock to determine the mechanisms by which insects become infected, harbor pathogen, and transmit them to livestock, and the pathogenesis of infection in livestock.  Your work will directly contribute to the Unit's mission to emphasize molecular biologic studies of viruses and vectors, vector biology and competence, epidemiology, and animal pathogenesis.  The GS-12/13 level position is full time, permanent, open to US citizens and has open-ended promotion potential.
