[ACVM] coronavirus question

Hello ACVM Diplomates,

Have any of you been involved with evaluating cases of acute febrile
disease +/- gastrointestinal signs in adult horses, with fecal coronavirus
shedding identified in these horses?  There has been some discussion of
such cases among veterinary internists I know, and I¹ve wondered what the
vet microbiology community makes of this.  Basically I¹ve been a bit
skeptical that coronavirus is the cause of these signs, but I¹ve never
been directly involved with a case.  I also haven¹t found any reports of
experimental challenge studies leading to typical disease in adult horses.
 Is anyone aware of such work?
