Numerous Woolfians have benefitted from his all-encompassing knowledge of Virginia Woolf’s work and of Bloomsbury writers. Stuart was a generous sharer and would amend sloppy research, plagiarism and poor referencing with a glee borne of his secure expertise. He had a unique sense of humour and fun. I’m thinking of his smile now.
