Not everyone had their books professionally typed, but VW usually did.<o:p></o:p></span></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'>However, VW usually made substantial changes at the proof stage, and was charged accordingly and substantially by R. & R. Clark, her printer in Edinburgh. In all the discussions of VW’s proofs, this expense does not seem to have been remarked upon. “The Years” was exceptional, where she made huge changes to the galley proofs.
