<p class="x_MsoNormal">I really don’t know how any pressure could be brought to bear on a publishing behemoth like Harcourt/Mariner. Big publishers are just as much to blame for the dearth and death of indie bookshops as amazon imho (but YAY to Blue Heron,
Jean—I hope to visit some day!). As we’ve seen recently from Liveright’s edition of Mrs Dalloway, which has a whole paragraph missing as well as other weird liberties taken with the text, and Granta’s misleading ‘fully’ restored reprint of the diaries, those
who publish Woolf’s works remain innocent of scholarly oversight. If the woman at Harcourt whom I contacted about this replies, I’ll share that with the list.</p>

with amazon—it looks like one edition but you end up being baited and switched. </p>
