Mind you, it does not rival the Woolf in Isota Tucker Epes’s paintings and about that I have a story:<div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Thanks to the generosity of Isota’s family, I have custody of Isota’s large painting of VW and The Waves (lots of them + text). I wish I had a picture of it which I could send to the list, but it is in California and I am here in Florida for the winter…. but the story is as follows: when the fires broke out in Northern California this fall and we received evacuation orders, guess what I took down (fueled by adrenalin, I guess) and placed into my car to take away from the threatening flames? Yes, you guessed it — not the 6,000 books at The Sitting Room Library(where I get to live), not clothes, not any of those quite replaceable objects, etc. — but Isota’s painting, the one truly irreplaceable possession. And as a kind of bonus, I found that in taking it down and laying it flat in the back of my Honda CRV where it just fit (whew!), I saw the painting from another angle, of course, and fell in love with it all over again.
