The British love affair with florals and wallpaper knows no end. For me, the illustrations in the Daily Mail article would be a nightmare to live in. So cluttered, clashing and like Twitter; each struggling to be heard above the clanging.

I’m reminded of the glorious interior spoof in the Brenda Blethyn movie Saving Grace where everything is overtly floral.

Bears little resemblance to the artistic sensibility of Charleston and Omega Workshop designs which are superb.

Having rummaged about online, I notice that almost no one in charge of lampshade terminology is considering a substitute to avoid usage of a racist/classist term.
