The ODW is conducting their typical 5-year review of the rule 1501:31-19-01. This rule is called "Wild animal importing, exporting, selling and possession regulations." There are

<b>NO</b> proposed changes to the rule, and all licensed aquaculture, bait dealers, and zoos/aquaria in the state should have been notified in mail the beginning of April. This rule focuses on injurious aquatic invasive species and exotic species of fish in

 the state. </div>

While not all licensed aquaculture facilities are actually producing fish, the numbers I reference when talking about our industry are those that are found in the Census of Aquaculture. In 2018, only 59 producers responded to NASS.

</b>In fact, I had to report USDA NASS data (only 59 producers and farm-gate value of $6.65 million) this morning to my supervisors. The Census matters.</div>
