If you own a farm or ranch and are suffering lost or reduced revenue because of COVID-19, unemployment insurance benefits may help provide income during this difficult time. Although self-employed individuals don't normally qualify for unemployment, that has
changed. <b class="">Benefits have been extended to farmers to cover for income </b>
where farmers markets have shut down, restaurants have stopped buying, and potentially where the market for commodities has collapsed and product is being dumped, as with milk. <b class="">Unemployment benefits are a useful tool in combination with the Paycheck
Protection Program</b>, and we will discuss strategies for leveraging both.
