The Sea Grant Great Lakes Aquaculture Collaborative (GLAC) is a federally funded project that seeks to create a regionwide group to foster relevant, science based initiatives that support aquaculture industries in the Great Lakes region that are environmentally responsible, competitive, and sustainable. Eligibility requirements. 1. Recipients include students, current and potential aquaculture producers, and aquaculture speakers from historically excluded or underrepresented groups in Great Lakes states. 2. Applicants must live or work primarily in a Great Lakes state (IL, IN, OH, MI, MN, NY, PA, VT, WI). 3. Recipients identify as part of an underrepresented group. This can include being a beginning aquaculture farmer. 4. Recipients must be 18 years or older. 5. Recipients are to use the reimbursement to attend one of the following aquaculture-related events: * A state aquaculture association meeting in one of the Great Lakes states. * A Great Lakes state or Great Lakes regional American Fisheries Society Meeting. * A North Central Regional Aquaculture Center Conference. * An Aquaculture America Conference. * A Great Lakes state-specific aquaculture event. Review: Funds will be reviewed and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants who receive funds will be provided with resources and mentorship prior to and during the aquaculture event they attend.
