The Basics of Bio Planning: How to Streamline Fish Production at Your Farm

Presenter:

Travis May

Presentation Description:

Have you ever wondered if you could get more production from your farm? Bio planning is a technique that will help you meet yearly production goals by projecting growth and allowing you to create a production schedule that will produce a consistent stream of fish to be harvested. This presentation will help you create a bio plan for your farm and include key elements that can throw off a production schedule.

Speaker Bio:

Travis May is the Aquaculture Production Manager at the Freshwater Institute. He manages daily operations of all fish culture systems, including preventative maintenance, data collection and analysis, bioplan creation, and harvest logistics. Prior to joining the Freshwater Institute, Travis worked with a major state fisheries division. He was also a production manager responsible for raising 1,000 metric tons of yellow perch annually at one of the largest and most advanced Recirculating Aquaculture Systems facilities in the U.S. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Hood College and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management from Shepherd University.
