[Sc-aquaponics] Great Lakes Aquaculture Marketing Tools

Dear Aquaculture Producers,

FreshFishFinder, a new website to launch later this spring, aims to directly connect fish producers to consumers through an interactive, web-based, Great Lakes-wide platform.

It will host fish producers of all types (e.g., food, bait, stocking, fee fishing, ornamental) from eight Great Lakes states (i.e., Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York) and Lake Champlain (Vermont). The website will feature a map where fish producers are identified with pins. When a consumer clicks on a map pin, a webpage dedicated to that producer's business will appear. The producer webpage can contain information you provide to us such as your business name, address, contact, hours, what you sell, and a photo.

FreshFishFinder is a consumer-focused website linked to the Great Lakes Aquaculture Collaborative website<https://greatlakesseagrant.com/aquaculture/>, another Great Lakes wide Sea Grant effort to educate both aquaculture producers and the public across the region.


A reminder that food fish aquaculture producers in the twelve states in the North Central Region: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin, can also add their business to Eat Midwest Fish<https://eatmidwestfish.org/>, an online resource hub hosted by Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant<https://iiseagrant.org/> that educates consumers about sustainable aquaculture in the Midwest.
