Thanks for the encouragement Bill, but when you sell multiple primary products, it is more difficult to compile the information for the dates they want.  It took me 2 hours to fully complete.

On another note, we benefitted from the CFAP program which I understand was made available principally by National Aquaculture Association and specifically due to the efforts of Dr. Carole Engle.  They could not have succeeded in convincing USDA to expand the fish species as they did without data that this survey and other information, which they gathered to build their case.  This data is critical, but it is hard to make one survey such as this work across the many species of fish that make up aquaculture.

I strongly encourage you to take a few minutes and fill out the survey.  It took me less than 5 minutes.

8 respondents from the north central region is really concerning.  If we do not take our own industry seriously, then how can we expect others to take it seriously.

See below the NAA's Oct 5th heads up. Information on Q3 has also been discussed on live/recorded presentations and shared on social media (@OSUAquaExt Twitter | @OhioStateAquaculture FB). The 12 Midwest states (same as those in NCRAC's region - https://www.ncrac.org/) had only EIGHT respondents on Q2 - far less than Q1. Please share with your state associations and encourage participation.

Answer the Quarter 3 COVID-19
Economic Impact Survey!


The National Aquaculture Association strongly recommends aquaculture farms and businesses complete this survey.  The information has been provided to Congress, White House and federal agencies to request and support programs, policies and legislation to assist US aquaculture during the pandemic.

In response to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), The Ohio State University and Virginia Tech are collecting information about how your farm or business has been affected by this pandemic. This effort is being repeated quarterly to capture the evolving impacts of coronavirus disease on U.S. aquaculture, aquaponics, and allied businesses.

Please participate in each of the quarterly national surveys during this year. Even if you have not been negatively affected, we would like to hear from you; that will ensure that our results are reflective of what is really happening in the industry. This link is for the Quarter 3 survey, covering the period from June 30th, 2020 to September 30th, 2020.

This survey will close at 11:59 pm (eastern time) on October 23rd, 2020.

This survey is supported by funding from the National Sea Grant Office (NSGO) and the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). There are no benefits or rewards for participating in this study. Results from this study may be used to communicate the effects of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on commercial aquaculture, aquaponics or allied businesses to State and Federal agencies, in an effort to secure relief. Results from this study may also be published in the future. Participation in this research survey is voluntary. By continuing with this survey, you are consenting to the use of your responses for research purposes.
