The next request for proposals through NCRAC is out! If you’re a researcher (no matter of your expertise in aquaculture!) or extension/outreach, please consider submitting a proposal.

If you are a producer in the Midwest, think about potential issues you have on the farm, or topics you would like to see addressed as it affects your farm. Even if you cannot envision how something could be developed into research or education, please reach out to me (Matt Smith), the Director Dr. Morris, or your state’s extension specialist. We would like to help connect the dots with researchers as much as possible to support the industry as that is USDA NIFA’s guidance and NCRAC’s intent.

Please share as you see fit with your fellow producers and universities.

North Central Regional Aquaculture Center Releases RFP for 2021




AMES, Iowa – The North Central Regional Aquaculture Center (NCRAC) is seeking pre-proposals in research and outreach that supports the aquaculture industry in the North Central Region. There is approximately $1,000,000 available to fund projects for up to two years starting in 2021.



Aquaculture researchers and extension specialists interested in applying for the next funding cycle can access the RFP for submitting pre-proposals for the projects by following the link at the bottom of this page. A requirement for all pre-proposals is that they include three letters of support from industry members not directly associated with the proposed project.
