[Sc-aquaponics] Ohio Aquaculture Cooperative Exploratory Meeting

All,

Many Ohio aquatic culturists have asked the Ohio Aquaculture Association to
take the lead into exploring the possibility of forming aquaculture
(including aquaponics) cooperatives as a mechanism to improve economic
bottomlines of existing and future aquatic culture businesses.  Thus, an
exploratory meeting has been scheduled for Saturday, December 16th from 10
AM to 2 PM at the Millcreek TWP Hall, just NW of Columbus, OH.  A central
location was indicated as preferred to minimize trip times for participants
as much as possible.  Attached is the meeting flyer and schedule.  *Please
note you need to RSVP to me by December 13* (earlier is preferable) so that
lunches can be ordered.  There is no cost to attend!  The Ohio Soybean
Council (OSC) has graciously agreed to cover the cost of lunch.  OSC has
long been a strong supporter of OAA and Ohio aquaculture and we all should
be appreciative of their support.

I urge you to attend if at all possible if this is of interest to you. Ohio
has an aquaculture industry composed mainly of small, family run operations
paying high prices for inputs (like feed) plus having production levels too
small to develop markets individually. Forming cooperatives could address
those issues among others.
