Online continuing education courses in aquaculture and aquaponics
Brunswick Community College

On January 23, 2017 Brunswick Community College will once again begin offering online continuing education courses in aquaculture and aquaponics. These courses will be taught by Douglas Holland, Ph.D., who retired from full-time work as Director of the Center for Aquaculture Technology in May 2016, but is returning to BCC part-time to instruct these online courses. Dr. Holland directed the successful BCC Aquaculture Technology program for 22 years, and owned and operated a private commercial fish hatchery for 10 years. He has aquaculture experience in North America, South America, and Africa.

These online courses are non-credit continuing education courses designed for farmers, entrepreneurs, investors, hobbyists, and others interested in aquaculture or aquaponics, but who do not wish to pursue a degree. They are open to everyone, regardless of state or country of residence, at the in-state tuition rate of $180 per course. There are no prerequisites and enrollment only requires a phone call and basic internet access.
Courses offered beginning January 23, 2017:

Introduction to Aquaculture
Aquaponics
Advanced Aquaculture, Part 1
Advanced Aquaculture, Part 2
