From the Ground Up
Growing Your Community Food System “From the Ground Up” Workshops
From the Ground Up! Workshops are intensive, hands-on trainings offering diverse groups the opportunity to learn, plan, develop, operate, and sustain community food projects. Project participants leave the workshop with improved skills that they can take back into their communities and pass on to others. These workshops are for both rural and urban projects. Please be aware no video recordings are allowed.
Workshops topics:
Participants may choose two of the following workshops to attend during the weekend.

  *   Composting and vermicompost
  *   Hoophouse construction
  *   Micro-green production
  *   Mushroom Production
  *   Project planning
  *   Beekeeping (May & June, weather permitting)
  *   Aquaponics (pre-registration required, see details below)

Cost for the 2-Day Workshop: $400
The workshop price includes continental breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday.  Lodging is not included.

3-Day Aquaponic Workshops
(Must Pre-Register Online)

An intensive hands-on workshop focused exclusively on aquaponic and urban aquaculture training. Topics include system design, water chemistry, fish husbandry, and plant selection. These workshops begin on Friday, the day before the standard 2-day workshop and participants will not have an opportunity to participate in the other breakout sessions.  Please be aware no video recordings are allowed.
