Dear Friend of Aquaculture,

I am excited to announce the planning for the 2014 North Central Aquaculture Conference: Integrating Research with Real-World Experience is nearly complete.  This joint aquaculture meeting will include the aquaculture associations of Ohio, Indiana and Michigan, along with the North Central Regional Aquaculture Center (NCRAC) staff and committees. As Chair of NCRAC’s Industry Advisory Council, I would personally like to invite you to attend this highly informative conference planned by industry for industry.  The conference will consist of 12 sessions comprising of forty eight, 40 minute presentations! Accompanying this invitation is the registration brochure, conference schedule providing presentation titles, and the exhibitors who will be present. I know all fish culturists watch their bottom-line, but I can think of no other low cost event that provides you such a wealth of information, opportunities to talk to presenters & experts who care about you, and networking opportunities with other culturists from Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and other north central states. NCRAC alone will have 40 attendees including culturists, university researchers, extension educators, and agency scientists.  All this for a $75 registration, a one night, $95 hotel room (plus tax), and whatever gas you need to get to the conference!

The goals for this conference are:

1.      To provide relevant information immediately applicable for NCR culture operations to positively enhance the economic bottom-line of such operations;

2.      To provide technology transfer of NCRAC funded research projects to the NCR aquaculture community; and

3.      To provide networking opportunities between industry, aquaculture associations, agencies, and academia to strengthen cooperation and advance NCR aquaculture.


The conference will be held February 22-23, 2014 at The Hotel at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.  We expect a large turnout of aquaculture enthusiasts from Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, surrounding states and the North Central Regional Aquaculture Center.  Registration on Saturday starts at 8:00 AM, sessions start at 9:00 AM.  Important dates to remember:



February 6, 2014:  Last day to reserve a hotel room at the reduced rate of $95.

February 14, 2014:  Last day to register for conference at $75, $100 thereafter.
