plugged in, turned on, and the lid is fully closed. If it still doesn’t work, trade it with one of the extras in the window. Place a broken item sticker on the faulty unit and place it on the broken items shelf.</span></div>

for this experiment; the TAs do not need to do anything with the vacuum pump. Be sure the vacuum control knob in the second-floor window (by the fire extinguisher) is in the “auto” position We will also be using the ovens; they open by pulling the bottom of
the handle up towards the ceiling- no rotating required. We strongly encourage TAs and students to keep the oven doors closed as much as possible. This helps with heat loss.</span></p>

UV-Vis on this cart immediately as they are reported. As always with anything broken, please put a broken item sticker on it describing the issue. When doing the cart check for this experiment, please swap all allura red bottles. We can check and refill them
down in the lab.</span></p>

blue carboys, check the fill level of the spill tray. Let us know if it’s more than half full. Partially filled bottles of lemon and lime juice should be placed in the fridge. We will periodically combine these. When doing a gather, please check the fridge
first for full bottles of lemon and lime juice. If you need more than what is available in the fridge, please grab new bottles from aisle 28. No partial bottles of lemon or lime juice should be left in aisle 28.</span></p>

they are planning to work in pairs. pH meters, probes, and cables to connect the two, are on the bench closest to Hood A.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: left; text-indent: 0px; line-height: 1.3;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51);">There could be a few rooms with old (black cable) probes, most rooms will have new (white wire) probes. The
probes with the black cables will need to be attached to the top of the meters whereas the new white wire probes will need to be attached to the probe and meter via the white wire.</span></p>

Connections are made on the top of the meter by pushing and turning (BNC type). Both pH probe types will have either a black o-ring or blue rubber piece at the top of the probe shaft to cushion it from the glass storage tube and help seal in the storage solution.
These should stay at the top of the probes while the students are taking readings.</div>
