window. To open the desiccator, unlatch the three latches and swing the door open. Do the reverse to close the desiccator.

<b>WILL</b> accept unused strips back. Please place these back into the desiccator in the pink “EXTRAS” bog. These should only be handed out if extras are needed. Never give a TA a partial set. They should be picking up a full class set at the beginning of
the lab session.</span></p>

a few weigh boats, <span class="grame">cup</span> and lids- so be sure to keep a close eye on these.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Buckeye Sans 2"">We’re expecting to go through more than 25,000 microcentrifuge tubes this week. All rooms have a significant stash of 1.7 mL microcentrifuge tubes behind their marker boards. The students will
be using the centrifuges for this- if they report one is not working, check the following: it’s plugged in, turned on, and the lid is fully closed. If it still doesn’t work, trade it with one of the extras in the window. Place a broken item sticker on the
faulty unit. <b>When doing cart checks for this experiment, swap the entire bin of reagents regardless of fill level. Do not check individual bottles- it takes too long.</b></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Buckeye Sans 2";color:#212121"> </span></b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Buckeye Sans 2";color:#212121">There will be some rooms with a mix of old (black cable) and new (white cable) probes, and some rooms with only new (white cable) probes. The probes with the black cables will need
to be attached to the top of the meters whereas the new probes will need to be attached to the probe and meter via the supplied white cables.<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Buckeye Sans 2";color:#212121"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Buckeye Sans 2";color:#212121">Connections are made on the top of the meter by pushing and turning. Both pH probe types will have either a black o-ring or blue rubber piece at the top of the probe shaft to cushion
it from the glass storage tube and help seal in the storage solution. These should stay at the top of the probes while the students are taking readings. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Buckeye Sans 2";color:#212121"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Buckeye Sans 2";color:#212121">If a student claims their pH meter is “broken”, they should have their TA try to calibrate it before bringing it to the window for an exchange. Emma has prepared a guide on how to
handle pH meter issues. It will be available in the window for reference.</span></p>

to Hood A. These items should be returned after use. Be prepared to replace volumetric flasks, they occasionally get broken. As a reminder, if any pipet pumps with glass stuck in them (or “leaky” pipet pumps) are returned to the window, please put them in
the appropriate labeled bin. Emma and Sarah will have a “broken UV-Vis” cart. Please place any broken UV-Vis on this cart. As always with anything broken, please put a broken item sticker on it.</span></p>

boxes. TAs just need a single box. They don’t have to return the emptied box- if they do, just make a stack of collapsed boxes. You’ll also be passing out printed copies of the BLP lab manual pages.</span></p>

take a key: swipe your BuckID, once the green light beside the door turns on, lift the lever below the door handle and open the door. Locate the key you want, rotate the captured key
<span class="grame">counter-clockwise</span> and pull it out. Close the door when you are done. To return the key: swipe your ID, lift the lever, open the door. Insert the captured key (the one with the colored ring around it) and turn it clockwise to lock
into place. If the key doesn’t turn, it’s likely in the wrong spot. If you need help, just ask!</span></p>
