about several items.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Walkie Talkies (Radios)<o:p></o:p></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">It sounds like there is some confusion on how to operate the walkie talkies. They are already set on the correct channel. To use it, turn it on by rotating the knob on the top. Press the button with an “H” on the left side (second from
the top) and speak. Release the button when you are done speaking. Please let us know if you need any additional assistance with these.

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>FPD<o:p></o:p></b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We’ll be starting Experiment FPD next week. Students will exchange their BUCK-ID or driver’s license at the window for a freezing point apparatus. Place their ID in the slot you obtained the apparatus from. Each apparatus has a number that
corresponds to the slot it’s stored in. This helps to get the correct ID back to the correct student.

<p class="MsoNormal">Note: we DO NOT accept credit or debit cards in exchange for equipment. If they don’t have anything to trade, let one of the prep lab staff know.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Please remember that a cart check gather requires you to only gather the items with a *. After completing a cart check, please reshelve the containers you brought down. Refilling will be done as needed under the supervision of a prep lab
staff member.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Waste on Fridays<o:p></o:p></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">As we mentioned during your in-person waste training, we remove all waste from the upstairs labs on Friday evenings. There usually isn’t time to dump it on Friday, so it is perfectly acceptable to leave the glass buckets near the west hood,
and the white cans on the cart so that they can be dumped on Monday. Please leave a note on the daily sheet board when waste needs to be dumped on Mondays.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Security<o:p></o:p></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Be sure when you are done dumping the white cans the door is closed behind you. Leaving the back door open is a serious security risk.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Everyone has been provided with a copy of guidebook. You have all certified that you have read it. When you are unsure about a task you have been assigned on the Daily Sheet, please look for the appropriate section in the guidebook and
review the necessary details. You can always ask questions, but please be sure you have taken the time to read through the information we have provided to you. Time spent reading the guidebook is paid time.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Metal Salts Waste Barrel Gauge<o:p></o:p></b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The yellow and orange float we have been using the metal salts waste barrel has not been very reliable. We have replaced with a digital gauge. The cutoff volume for the barrels is 180 L. Before dumping the white cans, press the white button
on the gauge to see the current barrel volume. Press the button as needed to refresh the volume reading.</p>
