<p>This Sunday, December 3 from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM, all Physics
fileservers will be rebooted. This is to fix a problem with NFS in
the department. NFS is used by Linux computers, but generally not
by Windows or Mac computers.<br>
</p>
<p>Please note that PHYPCS, the Windows fileserver, will also
reboot. This is because it is dependent on one of the Unix
fileservers.</p>
<p>Linux client computers will also need to reboot. I will try to do
this to all of them, but there may be some I do not have access
to, so it might be necessary for customers to reboot their own
computer when they come in. If a Linux computer shows NFS errors,
reboot it. Contact <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="mailto:action@physics.osu.edu">action@physics.osu.edu</a> if a reboot does not fix
the problem.<br>
</p>
<p>Windows computer users should not notice anything except during
the PHYPCS downtime. Most Mac users will not notice anything at
all.<br>
