<div dir="ltr">Dear all,<div>I will be teaching the second semester of condensed matter physics 8806.02. The lectures will be held on T and Th 9:30-11 am in Caldwell 171 across from Tuttle garage.</div><div><br></div><div>
The topics covered will be:</div><div>(0) Second quantization</div><div>(1) Electron-electron interactions; Hartree and Hartree Fock theory; Density Functional theory</div><div>(2) Magnetism</div><div>(3) Superconductivity (Ginzburg-Landau and BCS theories)</div>
<div>(4) Topological quantum matter</div><div>Both theoretical and experimental developments will be discussed.</div><div>Grading: 50% on HWs; 50% on projects and discussions</div><div>Prerequisites: Graduate level quantum mechanics and statistical physics; basic solid state physics (advised).</div>
