    Hello everyone,<br>

    The graduation reception for Bob Forties will be held on Thursday,

    August 4th at noon in PRB 1136.  Pizza will be provided.  The title

    of Bob's thesis is "Applications of statistical mechanics to nucleic

    acids".  He used a combination of modeling and experiments to

    explore DNA flexibility, binding of proteins to single-stranded

    nucleic acids, and nucleosome unwrapping dynamics. His adviser is

    Ralf Bundschuh, Michael Poirier is a co-adviser, and his other

    committee members are Mohit Randeria and Samir Mathur.  Please join

    us in congratulating Bob!<br>
