Dear Colleagues:

The Kenyon Institute of Biomedical and Scientific Writing offers an intensive three-day summer workshop on the Kenyon College campus for graduate level researchers seeking to hone their scientific writing skills, prepare articles for publication,
and become more proficient grant writers. The sessions will include small group daily writing seminars, one-on-one review of each participant’s, and lectures about article development, the grant process, and other topics. Participants who bring data or abstracts
will have sufficient solo writing time and faculty oversight to leave the course with the skeleton of a manuscript or perhaps more. NCH physicians who have attended the workshop in previous years are highly positive about the experience.

For the last several years we have paid for several faculty members to attend this workshop, and fortunately we will be able to continue this support for 14 individuals in 2017. We are asking for nominations from division and center chiefs.
The best participants are motivated individuals who need a bit more training to boost their writing ability. Ideally each participant will have already completed one of the half-day didactic writing workshops offered on our campus, either the earlier sessions
by the Kenyon staff or the more recent ones that I do.

This year’s Kenyon workshop is scheduled for June 7-9. Registration includes room and board on the Kenyon Campus in Gambier, located one hour from Columbus. The session begins at 6 pm on Wednesday, June 7 and concludes at 5 pm on Friday,
June 9.

Please send nominations to: ashley.falke@nationwidechildrens.org. Any nominees who cannot attend will receive priority for next year’s workshop. Feel free to contact me if you
have questions about the sessions (722-4689).
