Poster proposals are being accepted for the 4<sup>th</sup> Annual Outreach and Engagement Forum. The forum is an opportunity for faculty, staff, and students to interact with Ohio State’s outreach and engagement community, share work, and make connections

The UCLA-based CIRP Freshman Survey, now in its 50th year, collects extensive information from incoming first-year students before they start college classes. The 2015 study surveyed 141,189 full-time, first-year students from around the U.S., and found that
interest in political and civic engagement has reached the highest levels since the study began 50 years ago. Much interest has been directed at the increase from 5% to 8% of incoming students saying there is a very good chance that they would participate
in student protests. But we also find a continued rise in already strong commitment to engaging with their communities. Nearly three-quarters (74.6%) of freshmen in 2015 consider helping others in difficulty to be a “very important” or “essential” personal
objective. <o:p></o:p></p>
