 5691 (Nicaraguan Ethnography, a service-learning course that will be offered spring semester 2013). Students will compare theory with practice by documenting in film the interactions of traditional cultural production and tourism during Bluefields’ Palo de
 Mayo festival.  This festival has, at least since the 1950s, become a symbol of the Afro-Caribbean minority culture in Nicaragua. Students will also develop practical documentation skills: interviewing, photography and videography. Students will work closely
