Kirwan Institute to host lecture on Equitable and Inclusive Civic Engagement
The Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity will host Dr. Jill Clark and Kip Holley to discuss "Building Equitable and Inclusive Civic Engagement Environments in Columbus and Beyond."  The event takes place Thursday, March 17, at 11am via Zoom.

Ohio State Mansfield and Drake Institute to host Critical Global Citizenship Conversation
The Mansfield campus and the Drake Institute will host a Fulbright Visiting Scholar on April 6. Amanda Helena Rodrigues Franco will virtually visit and present "A sustainable future for all: Enhancing university students' critical thinking through the lens of (critical) global citizenship education."  Franco will address the challenge facing higher education in the development of citizens who are critical thinkers, particularly in a context filled with information, misinformation, and disinformation.

OSU Engagement Grants now accepting applications
The Office of Outreach and Engagement is seeking applications from faculty and/or faculty-led teams, and university staff that hold PI status, for the 2022-2023 Engagement Grants.  Grants will be awarded up to $20,000 to support development of impact reports for programs, performances or exhibits; development of a public policy document or impact report; development or implementation of a program, performance, exhibition, or initiative; or enhance or expand a program that extends community access to the university.  Application deadline is April 15.

Submit your course for the new GE
Courses can now be submitted for inclusion in the new GE, launching Autumn 2022!  The course submission process varies depending on which section of the GE curriculum the course fits into, Foundation or Themes.  Service-learning is included as an Integrative Practice choice within the Themes.  These courses must submit a Service-Learning Course Inventory form.  Course submission forms, instructions, and support materials can be found at the link below, and the Office of Service-Learning can assist with course development.

Professional Development Opportunity: From Transaction to Transformation
>From Transaction to Transformation is an online professional development learning module for community-engaged leaders and learners.  Developed by University of Minnesota's Office for Public Engagement, the free module is organized into seven short sections which take 10 to 20 minutes to complete.

Submit a proposal for the Ohio Campus Compact Annual Meeting
Ohio Campus Compact's Annual Meeting is being held on Aug. 4 at The Blackwell Inn & Pfahl Conference Center at Ohio State.  The theme is "Cultivating Change and Sense of Belonging on Campus: The Future of Community and Civic Engagement."  Proposals due March 18.

Submit a proposal for the 2022 ESC Conference
The Engagement Scholarship Consortium (ESC) seeks proposals for its 2022 conference taking place Sept. 21-22.  The annual meeting will be hosted by the University of Georgia and explore the theme of "The Impact of Engaged Scholarship: People, Purpose, and Passion."  Proposals will be considered on any topic clearly connected to the advancement of community engagement.  Proposals due March 31.

Campus Compact national conference March 29-31
Compact22 is Campus Compact's all-virtual 2022 national conference.  It is the largest and most inclusive national conference focused on the role of higher education in building healthy communities and fostering a just and equal democracy.
