Ohio State Service-Learning News
Planning productive conflict workshop
Community-engaged courses often require students to challenge preconceived notions and move beyond their own experience, which can spur strong emotions. On Sept. 23, 12-1:30pm, the Institute for Teaching and Learning will host a workshop to discuss inclusive principles to lead discussions on course content that may be challenging for students. Participants will leave with tools to assist in setting goals for discussions, articulating expectations, and anticipating conflicts in class.

Engaged Scholarship Faculty Community of Practice
The next meeting of the Engaged Scholarship Faculty Community of Practice will take place on Sept. 30 from 2:30-4pm. The Office of Outreach and Engagement works to advance the scholarship of engagement and raise its profile at the university. Faculty whose work is in any way focused on connecting the university with the community are invited to participate.
