Applications now being accepted for OIA's Global Teaching and Learning Grants
The Office of International Affairs and the Center for Languages, Literatures and Cultures are sponsoring a grant competition to develop internationally focused learning and cultural exchanges at Ohio State, using a variety of platforms and mediums.  Faculty, instructors, staff, researchers, and STEP mentors are welcome to apply for stipends ranging from $500 to $2,000 for both course and component development.  A broad definition of "Global Learning" that includes many processes of diverse people collaboratively learning, analyzing, and addressing complex problems that transcend borders will be applied.  Applications are due by March 31.

Application open for Engagement Impact Grants
The Office of Outreach & Engagement is accepting applications from faculty (all ranks and titles) and/or faculty-led teams for the Engagement Impact Grants.  Grants will be awarded at a maximum amount of $10,000 to support (1) impact report of an existing university sponsored/facilitated outreach and engagement program, performance, exhibit, or similar; (2) impact report of a community-based organization's program for the purpose of establishing a partnership or ongoing relationship; (3) development of a public policy document or report; or (4) support for team to develop a grant proposal or finalize a manuscript for publication submission.  Application deadline is April 15, 2021.

Resources and Opportunities
Campus Compact's Engaged Scholars Initiative is now accepting applications
Applications for the next ESI cohort are due Friday, March 26.  This program develops a diverse group of early-career faculty and staff who can strengthen their own critical community-engaged scholarship and lead equity-focused change with their institutions and communities.  This virtual collaborative learning and leadership cohort will meet from April 2021 to March 2022.

Applications being accepted for ESC Pre-Conference Workshop
ESC is seeking applications for an intensive professional development program providing advanced doctoral students and early career faculty with background literature, facilitated discussions, mentoring, and presentations designed to increase their knowledge and enhance their practice of community-engaged scholarship.  Interested applicants must be nominated by their faculty advisor, mentor, or department chair.  The workshop takes place Sept. 7-9, and the deadline to apply is April 15.

Community Engagement Fellows offers new Beyond Boundaries virtual program
CEF: Beyond Boundaries builds on CEF's communities of practice to more explicitly forge partnerships that transcend geographical, political, and sociocultural boundaries.  Over 140 Fellows from across 6 countries participated in the first program, and now CEF is offering another edition in April and May.  Participants will join a series of six 75-minute facilitated weekly meetings via Zoom starting April 21 and ending May 27, with four cohort meeting times to choose from.  The highly interactive meetings will feature discussion on the design of healthy collaborations (no homework or assigned readings necessary).  This is a free program open to all.  Sign up requested by April 16.

Events
8th International Symposium on Service-Learning announced
The 8th ISSL will be offered in two parts: virtually in June 2021 and in-person in Cyprus in June 2022.  The topic for the symposium is "Critical Service-Learning Across the Globe: Transforming Teaching into Social Action."  The virtual event will take place on June 11 and provide the opportunity to stay in touch and exchange ideas until the in-person meeting in June 2022.
