2020-2021 Service-Learning Course Development Grants application now available
The Office of Service-Learning's S-L Course Development Grants for 2020-2021 are now open.  Grants are open to all Ohio State instructors at any campus, for any level of student, and in any mode of delivery.  Expected Learning Outcomes for the new GE, including integrated learning and service-learning options, are now available for instructors hoping to design courses for the new GE.  Applications are due Tuesday, February 9, 2021.

Apply now for the University Outreach and Engagement Awards
The Ohio State is seeking nominations of programs, scholars and community partners for the 2021 University Outreach and Engagement Awards, which honor faculty, staff, students and community partners for outstanding achievement in producing engaged scholarship and community impact. Awards will be given in three categories: Community Engaged Program, Community Engaged Scholar, and Community Partner. The deadline to apply is January 8, 2021.

Apply now to teach in an Active Learning Classroom

Are you interested in integrating active learning strategies to increase student engagement in your face-to-face course? Apply now to teach in an Innovative Space for Autumn 2021. If accepted, your course will be scheduled in a classroom designed to support active learning, including features such as whiteboards, flexible furniture and enhanced technology. We cannot guarantee Innovative Spaces placements because of the pandemic. Dependent on physical distancing guidelines for autumn term, the registrar may schedule your course in a space that is better configured for distancing. Apply by Jan. 7, 2021.

Resources and Opportunities
ePortfolio pilot participants needed

The Office of Distance Education and eLearning (ODEE) is seeking instructors to help evaluate an ePortfolio tool to support the new General Education requirements.  Prior experience with ePortfolio tools in not necessary.  The evaluation is scheduled for spring semester.  At the end of the semester, instructors and students will be expected to complete an online pool about the experience.  A diverse group of pilot participants is necessary to ensure that the tool will be satisfactory across disciplines and pedagogies.
