2019 University Engagement Recognition Awards now accepting nominations
The University Engagement Recognition Awards honor faculty, staff, students, and community partners for outstanding achievement in meaningful partnerships that produce engaged scholarship and community impact.  There are two awards for service-learning instructors at the emerging and distinguished level.  Other categories include: community engagement, international engagement, community partnership, staff, undergraduate student, graduate student, professional student, and student group.

Seeking proposals for the Student Academic Success Research (SASR) Grants Program
The Office of Student Academic Success, in partnership with the Office of Distance Education and eLearning's Digital Flagship program and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, is seeking proposals for the SASR Grants Program.  Successful proposals will focus their research on improving the academic success of Ohio State students, including students' initial enrollment in college, academic performance, or retention and graduation.  The Office of Service-Learning would be happy to collaborate on topics related to service-learning and academic success.  Proposals may be submitted through Friday, March 15.

Upper Arlington High School looking for contributors for UA Idea Day
Last year, Upper Arlington High School launched UA Idea Day, a one-day symposium that celebrated all kinds of thinkers, innovators, and dreamers.  The event reached over 2,000 students and teachers.  This year, UA is looking for speakers, panelists, facilitators, and investors to participate for a morning, afternoon, or full day on March 22.  If participation would be consistent with your community engagement efforts, please consider participating.

IJRSLCE issues call for manuscripts for 2019 issue
The International Journal for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement (IJRSLCE) is seeking submissions for Issue 7 (2019) that reflect the breadth of scholarship in the service-learning and community engagement field, with articles from different countries and disciplines and representing a range of methodologies. IUPUI announces annual Research Academy for engaged learning scholarship
The 11th Annual IUPUI Research Academy will convene May 8-10, 2019, in Indianapolis.  The Research Academy aims to strengthen research on engaged learning, service-learning, and community engagement, advance the scholarship of teaching and learning, provide consultation and feedback on research ideas, and build a network of engaged scholars.  Topics covered include designing theory-grounded research questions, exploring measurement approaches, advancing your research within a learning community, and writing research proposals and manuscripts.  The Office of Service-Learning will be offering partial travel support for this opportunity.

Proposals now being accepted for the 2019 Engagement Scholarship Consortium Meeting and Global Service-Learning Summit

-        The Engagement Scholarship Consortium seeks proposals for its 2019 conference, Deepening Our Roots: Advancing Community Engagement in Higher Education.  The conference will be held Oct. 8-9, 2019, in Denver.  Keynote speaker will be Gordon Gee.  Presentation proposals are due Friday, Mar. 15.

-        The 6th Global Service-Learning Summit will take place Nov. 3-5, 2019, at Clemson University with the theme One World: Inclusion and Transformation in Global Service Learning.  Presentation proposals are due Sunday, Feb. 17.
