Planning Magazine Features Knowlton School Program

Community-engaged teaching by two instructors in the Knowlton School's City and Regional Planning program were featured in the October issue of Planning, the official magazine of the American Planning Association (APA). Visiting Professor Chad Gibson, who is also the senior planning officer for Upper Arlington, was featured for studio courses with projects that address topical issues in the community, with student research and work often having a significant impact on the development and outcome of these local projects. The magazine also included an article by Professor of Practice Kyle Ezell exploring ways planners, architects, and landscape architects can create communities where adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder can thrive. Ezell's studio courses include collaborations with adults on the autism spectrum and their parents and led to the creation of an APA Interest Group: Planning with Underserved Populations.
