Nominate a student for the Graduate Student Awards
Graduate Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences invites you to nominate outstanding graduate students for the Graduate Student Awards 2018.  Any graduate student in the College of Arts and Sciences is eligible for nomination in two categories: Distinguished Service and Teaching Excellence.  Each award includes a $1,000 scholarship.  Nominations are due Wednesday, April 4.

President's Prize now accepting applications

The President's Prize provides two graduating seniors with important connections and financial resources to advance innovative ideas for social change in the year following their graduation.  Current juniors (those students graduating in Autumn 2018, Spring or Summer 2019) can apply now.  Applications are due July 13.  Encourage your students to apply!  Information sessions will be offered as follows:

-          Wednesday, April 11 at 5pm, Ohio Union Brutus Buckeye Room

-          Monday, April 23 at 5pm, Ohio Union OSI Founders Room

-          Thursday, May 24 at noon, online webinar via Carmen Connect

-          Tuesday, June 26 at noon, online webinar via Carmen Connect

Register now for the Patterson Lecture
The 15th Annual James F. Patterson Land-Grant University Lecture will feature William E. "Brit" Kirwan, chancellor emeritus of the University System of Maryland and former president of Ohio State, May 2 from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. The lecture honors former Board of Trustees member James Patterson and the cause to which he is most committed - a vibrant university fulfilling its land-grant mission in an ever-changing world. Registration is required and seating is limited.

Thinking Globally: Acting Locally event during Time for Change Week
Engineers without Borders at Ohio State presents a wonderful event for those interested in making a difference, both locally and abroad. The featured speaker is Isatou Ceesay, creator of the Gambia Women's Initiative, author of One Plastic Bag, and activist for both women's rights and environmental action in Africa. There will be tabling with representatives from GWI, EWB, and other similar organizations, and also African cuisine catered so whether your interest is in service, activism, or work abroad there will be something for all! The event will be taking place on Tuesday, April 3 at 5PM in Psychology 006.

Save the Date: Ohio Campus Compact 2018 Annual Meeting
The annual statewide service-learning conference of Ohio Campus Compact will take place August 2 and 3.  Pre-conference activities will be August 2 at Otterbein University, with the conference on August 3 at Ohio State's Blackwell Inn and Pfahl Conference Center.
