Funding for service-learning course development
The Office of Service-Learning is now accepting applications for the 2018 Service-Learning Course Development Grants. These grants of up to $4,000 each support the development and enrichment of service-learning courses. Applications are due Wednesday, February 7, 2018.

2018 Community Engagement Conference registration now open!
Registration is now open for Ohio State's inaugural Community Engagement Conference, featuring keynote speaker Donna Shalala.  The conference, taking place Jan. 24-25, will bring together faculty, staff, students, and community partners to focus on professional development and networking, while exploring new potential engagement partnerships.  The theme of the conference is Partnering to Advance Health and Wellness.  Register by Dec. 8 to receive the early-bird pricing of $85.

2018 President's Prize winners announced
Alina Sharafutdinova and Anna Voelker have been named recipients of the 2018 President's Prize, which includes a living stipend, startup funding and faculty advising for their first year after graduation. Sharafutdinova's project, The Ohio Opioid Action Plan, will focus on the opioid epidemic in Franklin County, and Voelker's AstroAccess project aims to make science education more accessible.  Voelker was inspired in part by her participation in Robin Post's Shakespeare and Autism course. The President's Prize is Ohio State's highest recognition given to exceptional students who want to make the world a better place.

IARSLCE 2018 Conference call for proposals announced
The International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement has announced that proposals are now being accepted for their 2018 conference in New Orleans, LA.  The conference will take place July 18-20 with the theme Just Research: Inclusivity and Intersectionality.  Proposals are due by Friday, January 19.
