Ohio Campus Compact Annual Meeting to be hosted at Ohio State
The Ohio Campus Compact Annual Meeting will be hosted at Ohio State on August 3 & 4, 2017.  The Annual Meeting offers the opportunity to network with other staff and faculty members working to advance civic learning and democratic engagement.  This year's meeting will have the theme: Advancing the Civic Purposes of Higher Education in a Changing Environment.

Ohio State's President's Prize now accepting applications
Do you know exceptional students with powerful ideas for making our world a better place?  Let them know about the President's Prize!  The President's Prize provides two graduating seniors the crucial connections and financial support they need to advance innovative ideas for change in their first year after graduation.  Applications are due July 14, and info sessions will be held throughout April and June.

Course Spotlight

ESETEC 2211: Impact of Technology in Learning and Education

This course, offered Autumn 2017, introduces students to how technology influences youth learning in school and non-school environments.  Students will work with youth in the Columbus Metropolitan Library's Homework Help Centers and have direct access to mobile learning and teaching technology.  This course is part of a new program focusing on Technology and Youth Studies.

Franklinton Food-Health-Wellness Corps seeking applicants
The Franklinton Food-Health-Wellness Corps is a 10-member, neighborhood-based, AmeriCorps VISTA project that builds community food system capacity with community organizations that serve in the Franklinton neighborhood, one of Columbus' most underserved communities.  These VISTA members work with a wide range of social service agencies throughout Franklinton to help build the capacity of food-health-wellness initiatives.  Service sites include Franklinton Gardens, St. John's Episcopal Church, Mount Carmel Healthy Living Center, Franklinton Cycle Works, and the Homeless Families Foundation.  Short-term and year-long positions are available.

Engagement Scholarship Consortium Conference registration now open
Registration is now open for the 2017 Engagement Scholarship Consortium (ESC) Conference to be held in Birmingham, Alabama this fall.  Pre-conference activities and workshops will take place September 24-25, and the main conference will be September 26-27.  This year's conference theme is: This is Engagement: Best Practices in Community-Engaged Scholarship.  Early bird pricing extends until August 17.
