Our main goal with the NHC is to bring students and teachers with a real passion for history together, helping them learn from the ideas and activities that are exchanged through our eNewsletter, eUpdates, and other communication methods. We do not limit the scope of activities that a chapter may participate in---each club is allowed to navigate its own course.</span><br>

<div><span>The NHC now has chapters in 45 states and over 18,000 students involved, with clubs that are as big as 150 members to as small as 5 members.
<div><span>We have always believed in a bottom-up approach, where students passionate about history are doing the teaching through example, which gives an ownership stake to every school that joins the organization. <strong>This makes the NHC not only a group that promotes learning, but also encourages having fun while doing it. </strong></span><span style="font-size:12pt;">We also run numerous award programs such as the "History Student of the Year", the National History Scholars Society, and the Lessons of Leadership contest, which recognize the top history students from schools across the country.</span></div>
