discover secrets of the city, historic parks, and exquisite NYC

"I am a high school teacher and advisor of our school's International
Club. I worked with Alana to arrange a 2 hour food tasting and cultural
walking tour of Little Italy for our club. Her communication of the
details of the trip was great, from the initial phone call to the
various emails leading up to the day of the tour. She also asked us in
advance about any food allergies the students had so that she could
accommodate every person for the tastings. Upon arrival in Little Italy,
both she and the other guide, Liz, were there to greet us. We were
ushered out of the cold and into a private room of Little Italy's most
famous bakery for a fresh and delicious cannoli tasting along with a
fascinating history overview of the area and the bakery. The students
were all engaged and interested in the information the guides shared
with us. From there, we made several other interesting stops -- mainly
to mom and pop shops, some of which have been around for over 100 years.
