OAGC Back to School News Flash: Fall Conference, Advocacy Info and More<br>

Fall Conference Registration<br>
<br>
The OAGC Fall Conference registration forms/online registration along with hotel<br>
information, exhibitor prospectus, Sunday activities including Parent Day,<br>
Ashland credit, and more are now available at<br>

September 22 - 24, 2013, which is a few weeks earlier than normal so please mark<br>
your calendar for upcoming deadlines. These include the hotel reservation<br>
deadline of September 5 and early registration deadline of September 9. Hotel<br>
reservations go quickly, so please do not delay. We have a tremendous line-up of<br>
speakers and small sessions, which are particularly well-suited to help gifted<br>
professionals, general educators parents navigate the new policy and funding<br>

Biennial Budget Information<br>
<br>
The new state budget brought many changes to both school funding and policy. A<br>
new advocacy alert regarding the confusion about gifted funding can be found at<br>

state budget including the new spreadsheets that break out funding by component<br>
as well as an ODE document that summarizes major changes, please go to<br>

Gifted Operating Standards<br>

Every five years, all operating standards must be reviewed. The gifted operating<br>
standards are currently up for review. For more information about this process,<br>
please read the Fall Advocacy Corner at [4]www.oagc.com/?q=AdvocacyCorner . We<br>
may need witnesses to testify at upcoming Chapter 119 hearings as the rule<br>
revision process progresses.<br>
