What does that mean for gifted? Well, the gifted subgroup on this report card preview includes ALL gifted students. That means the value added growth of gifted learners in reading and math is calculated regardless if they are gifted superior cognitive ability, reading, math, science, social studies, creative thinking, or the arts. It is reasonable to expect different types of growth patterns on reading achievement tests in a group of kids of all gifted IDs versus just cognitive ability and/or reading and the same for math. Also, keep in mind a C means the students, as a group, made 1 year's growth on the test, and students must take the test at their assigned grade level regardless of instructional level (unless they are formally accelerated). Interpreting these preliminary grades is very tricky.</div><div><br></div><div><br><div apple-content-edited="true">
