Below is her obit<font size="2">uary<font size="2"> with <font size="2">information about the memorial service that will be held on January 5th. Karen was on the OAGC board as t<font size="2">he Chair of t<font size="2">he Teacher Division for several years. She was a<font size="2">lways a positive force <font size="2">for OAGC and gifted children. <font size="2">I will personally miss <font size="2">Karen<font size="2">'s presence in the gifted community very much. </font></font></font></font></font></font></font><br>

Karen S. Cook, age 66, born February 10, 1946 in Columbus, passed away
December 21, 2012. Member of Livingston United Methodist Church since
the age of 2. Graduated from South High School in 1964. She received her
Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education from The <a href="http://www.legacy.com/memorial-sites/ohio-state/?personid=161878136&affiliateID=1428" id="InlineMicrositeLink_Ohio_State" class="MicrositeKeyword" title="Visit Ohio State Memorial Site to see similar profiles" target="_blank">Ohio State University</a>.
Karen was an educator for 32 years, 28 of those years with Southwest
City Schools teaching 5th and 6th grade gifted and talented students at
Hayes Intermediate. Preceded in death by mother Pearl Keeler, father
Harold Lambert, and Phyllis and Bill McCurdy, who raised her. Survived
by son, Anthony "Tony" (Rhonda) Cook; granddaughters, Gabrielle and
Alesia Cook; great-grandson, Devonne Cook-Smith; sisters, Phyllis and
Linda; close family and friends, Wally and Jane Fahrion, Patti and Bob
Bricker, Carol and Guy Wolfenbarger, and Jackie Trainer. A celebration
of Karen's life will be held at Livingston United Methodist Church, 200
E. Livingston Ave., on Saturday, January 5, 2013 with a service at 1
p.m. followed by visitation until 4 p.m., Rev. James Donnan officiating.
