Dear Colleagues!

IF you are looking for courses to develop your understanding of gifted/ talented students, we’d love to have you join us this summer. Teachers who participate in Chautauqua, taking all three classes in one or both weeks of Chautauqua, receive a full scholarship* for one class in one week or two classes over both weeks.

Two of the classes listed below are 3-semester-hour classes (and the Introduction to Educating Gifted Students already has a wait list), but the others are 1-semester-hour “workshop” classes that allow you to focus on one topic over three weeks—it’s been a popular format that allows those working with the gifted to really focus on specific things of use to their students. As well, workshops have never had “technology” fees associated with them—just the tuition. Instructors develop their own schedules, but these classes are largely asynchronous. Grab your lemonade, complete your readings, and think about applying the content to your own programs and students while out on the patio!

The attached flyer has the coursework available both in June and July. Please share with those who want to meet the needs of their advanced learners as well as those earning their endorsement.

If you and one or more colleagues enroll in any of our classes together as a “professional learning community,” we’ll give each of you in your community a 50% tuition scholarship*. We know that tuition continues to climb, but the Center is committed to supporting you in every way possible. Graduate tuition this summer is $580, but scholarships keep us competitive with any program—the Belin-Blank Center provides you with the widest possible array of content to help you prepare to provide services to support the talent development of all of your gifted learners. The Center aligns all of its professional learning with standards provided by the National Association for Gifted Children (e.g., Faculty Standards for Teacher Preparation Programs in Gifted & Talented Education<https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www.nagc.org/sites/default/files/standards/Faculty_Stands/Faculty*20Standards*20*28final*29.pdf__;JSUlJQ!!KGKeukY!y3Bzn49PNWv8mRzsJg7X_Yn8m4Yd5t4ZynMFiBQZPjZAEsCTZctgxlyIFccs0sY6Y_5UESriPLJzY50Dlt18n48AX1MiHg$ >, as well as NAGC – CEC Teacher Preparation Standards in Gifted and Talented Education<https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www.nagc.org/sites/default/files/standards/NAGC-*20CEC*20CAEP*20standards*20*282013*20final*29.pdf__;JSUlJSUlJQ!!KGKeukY!y3Bzn49PNWv8mRzsJg7X_Yn8m4Yd5t4ZynMFiBQZPjZAEsCTZctgxlyIFccs0sY6Y_5UESriPLJzY50Dlt18n4-iAiOQ7g$ > and the Pre-K – Grade 12 Gifted Education Programming Standards<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.nagc.org/resources-publications/resources/national-standards-gifted-and-talented-education__;!!KGKeukY!y3Bzn49PNWv8mRzsJg7X_Yn8m4Yd5t4ZynMFiBQZPjZAEsCTZctgxlyIFccs0sY6Y_5UESriPLJzY50Dlt18n4_Y9JtZKA$ >).
